Hello there. My name is John. I am a working dad and I’m married to a working mom. We have a daughter (born 2006), two dogs (Odin and Juno), and a Beta fish (Jameson–name given by our daughter).
My wife and I both graduated in 2003 from Washington State University in Pullman, WA. Me in Philosophy, her in Communication Studies. I work in Construction (for a drywall and steel stud supplier), and she left her stay at home mom duties in 2008 to work as an assistant manager at a movie theater. I work days and she works nights–this way we don’t have to worry about babysitting costs, as one of us is always home with our daughter.
As you can see, we are probably like most of you out there with children; doing the best we can to provide for our families, but not always in the way we wish we could.
I wanted to start this blog as a way for me to comment on different financial issues and to have discussions about those with my readers. I have been interested in investing and everything to do with finances since childhood, but I haven’t always been the best at putting the things I’ve learned into practice. I would like to help others by opening discussions about financial issues, and in turn, my hope is, that it will hold me more accountable in my financial decisions.
I am by no means a financial planner, stock broker, realtor, or any other type of financial guru. I am just an ordinary guy trying to navigate this financial world. I hope you will keep coming back to walk this trail with me.
To keep the conversations flowing positively, I would prefer that innappropriate and profane comments be kept out of this blog. Comments deemed innappropriate and not positively thought provoking will be removed.

Hi. I found your WordPress here by looking on the WordPress message board. You said test it out. I read I guess 1/2 of it. It’s neat that you have easy words to read.
I have a WordPress I type what I do in every day. It’s neat to look back on it. I have photos and video’s in it too. I just run it on a computer I have here at home and have a open port to it so I can at lest read it on the web or show my family. I have it so Google will not find it. Because it’s my home Internet.
I think it be neat for me to find some other WordPress like that on the web. Yours is a little like it. So thanks for having this.
